CALL FOR PAPER
The 4th International Conference on Information & Communication Technology and Systems (ICTS) 2008 is an international forum organized by Informatics Department, Faculty of Information Technology, SepuluhNopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya – Indonesia, in cooperation with Faculty of Engineering - Kumamoto University (Japan) and JICA PREDICT - ITS.
This event is a forum for computer science and information and communication technology communities to discuss and exchange information and knowledge in their areas of interest. It aims to promote activities in research, development, and application on computer science and information and communication technology.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE Prospective authors are invited to submit a full paper for review using the electronic procedure (http://icts. if.its.ac. id/paperinst. html). The paper should be written in English. It should not exceed 8 pages of A4 paper with 1” left-right margin, and use Times New Roman 10 point. The manuscript title header should include the names, institutions and (email) addresses of the authors, an abstract of up to 200 words, and keywords. The authors will receive formal invitation e-mail from the ICTS 2008 Organizing Committee. The final paper has to be prepared in LaTeX or Ms. Word according to the style provided by the organizer. Fresh graduates with good results are encouraged to apply. Good programming skills, particularly in VB.NET, VB6, VC++ and SQL. Good English proficiency. Self-motivated, requires minimal supervision, resourceful and willing to learn. Experience using .NET in developing multi-tier application will be added advantage. Setahu saya di Belanda ini spesialisasi dianggap kerja sesudah jadi dokter. Jadi para calon spesialis ini dibayar. Bayarannya lumayan tinggi. Cuma kayaknya kalo dokter dari luar EU harus ikut ujian persamaan dulu. Tentunya bahasa lokal harus dikuasai dengan baik.
Jadi kita kasarnya cuman keluar modal untuk belajar bahasa dan kursus ujian persamaan. Habis itu kalau dapet posisi di program spesialisasi ya kita ga keluar duit lagi, bahkan bisa nabung. Dihitung2 malah mungkin lebih murah dari spesialisasi di dalam negeri yang biaya sampingannya lebih banyak dari biaya resminya.

Research Fellow Positions on Nanoelectronics and Micro/Nano Fluid Dynamics in

Two Research Fellow positions (postdoctoral position) are available in the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The positions are in the interdisciplinary field of Nanoelectronics and Micro/Nano Fluid Mechanics and are available for immediate appointment.
Position 1: We are looking preferably for a researcher holding a PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Nanoelectronics. Her/His task will be the development of thin-film resistance sensors using lithographic techniques and the designing of fast constant current feedback electronic circuitries. The Research Fellow will develop this novel device for probing the fluid mechanics present in ultrasonic cleaning. This position is initially available for 12 month and renewal will be based mutual agreements. Good communication skills in English, experiences in the clean-room/nanofabrication, and the design of analog circuitry are required. Additional knowledge in the fields of acoustics, fluid-mechanics, or physics is a plus. If interested, please send your CV and names/contacts of two references to Dr. Tom Wu. Position 2: The second position should be filled with a Researcher holding a PhD in Physics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. The candidate should have experience in experimental research in fluid mechanics and ideally in acoustics, too. In this 36 month research project she/he will study the wall shear stress on a microscopic level with the help of novel sensor developed in-house. For the calibration of the sensor some experience in operating pulsed lasers and high-speed photography equipment is desired. Although, the research project is focused on the experimental side, candidates with a background in numerical simulations (boundary element method or finite-element method) are favorably considered. Good communication skill in English and a curious character are necessary to successfully complete this challenging interdisciplinary research project. Dear wientha, kebetulan saya sedang di Jerman dan mendapat beasiswa dari DAAD (bukan utk spesialisasi) Untuk spesialisasi sepertinya Jerman tidak memberikan beasiswa. Mereka hanya memberikan beasiswa utk science health, atau sub spesialis (contoh sub spesialisasi radiotherapi), tapi tidak spesialis. Beberapa teman yang mengambil spesialisasi di sini mengeluarkan dana sendiri. Jika dibandingkan lama studi spesialisasi di Indo dan jerman, di sini lebih lama, contoh utk obgin indonesia rata2 3.5 th, jerman 5 tahun, IPD indo 4.5 th, jerman 5 thn, ortoped 6 tahun. Cuma enaknya kalau ambil spesialisasi di sini setiap jaga ada bayarannya, kalau di indo tidak. Itu yg bisa saya informasikan

Hi Reza,
Setahu saya, umumya univ-univ di Eropa (seperti Belanda, Jerman, Perancis, dll) menerapkan sistem ECTS (european credit transfer system) utk program master (S2). Program ini biasanya ditempuh dlm waktu dua tahun, yg umumnya terdiri dari serangkaian kuliah pd tahun pertama dan internship+ riset thesis pd tahun kedua. Karena program-nya tidak full research, maka masalah admission itu berhubungan dengan universitas-nya atau departemen-nya (bukan dgn individu professor). Terkecuali kalo mau ngambil PhD (S3) yg umumnya `by research`, nah ini musti menghubungi professor dulu utk memohon kesediaannya membimbing.
Jadi saran saya, untuk mendapatkan admission letter for master study, hubungi dulu pihak universitas yang khusus menangani admission (seperti student administration, international office, dll). Tetapi sebelum mengontak suatu univ, sebaiknya kunjungi dulu website-nya dan pelajari program yg anda minati. Jika program itu sesuai dgn minat anda, baru kemudian lihat `admission requirements` utk program itu (biasanya sebagian besar requirements-nya mengikuti standar umum yg ditetapkan oleh univ). Kalo ada yg krg jelas ttg `requirements-nya`, barulah hubungi univ. Setelah itu, siapkan berkas-berkas yg diperlukan utk apply for admission dan kirim itu ke univ. Beberapa univ menyediakan pengisian application form secara on-line, dan berkas-berkas-nya dpt dikirim kemudian melalui airpost. Kalo application-nya udah terkirim, nah tinggal nunggu admission letter-nya kalo keterima. Admission letter itulah yg digunakan sbg prasyarat utama utk apply beasiswa. Biasanya di website univ atau suatu program study tersedia juga info/saran daftar beasiswa.
